Smashing Pumpkins fan meet-up

On Crestfallen.com’s 6th radio show, Kerry Brown announced:

1) If you are interested in attending the SP fan community meetings, there will soon be a reservation/RSVP page on Facebook where you can say “Yes” if you are attending. This way, Kerry can get an idea of how many people are interested in participating.

2) Kerry is also specifically looking for a couple of people at each US show who would be interested in helping to organize such a meeting, so if you are interested in helping out, or even if you just have any ideas for the meetings (he says he’s “all ears”), email him at SPRCmeetup@gmail.com

I thought he said to only email him if we wanted to help organize the meetup, but the actual signup would be via Facebook?

As far as downloads go for SPRC.. simple solution.. offer multiple file types for download… dont just offer mp3, offer a choice of mp3, wav, flac.. good show btw, really excited for the title track!

Monte you are the bridge between fan and family in the SP community. No one could have deserved it more (applause to Monte) keep up the good work.

Realize Monte that many will dislike you in the SPWorld because you are in a position where many wish they can be which is next to Billy and The SP band so take all insults directed at you with sympathy and a grain of salt. Only Love exists in the world, everything else is phony
and only helps us in the journey to find this truth once again.

I enjoy your site and show alot. All others like HipstersUnited, do not be discouraged for all have a special corner in this SP fans heart and I gather Billy would feel the same way after all we are all family.

I cannot wait for the book (Billys Spiritual Memoir) to come out. I am curious to know the man whose music and interviews I enjoy more and more from a more intimate & personal level.

Kerry should write a book next about the same thing. I am sure Kerry has tons of stories and wisdom.

As far as the “Meet Ups” are concerned. Why do them? You can easily start a topic on the SP forum asking for suggestions or ideas on how to help the band execute a plan and keep them at the top of their game. Are these “SP Meet Ups” for meetting someone special in particular or getting connections? Whom are you trying to reach out to? SomeOne with the big ideas :)

Is this a way for fans to not feel left out and feel part of the process. Are these “SP Meet Ups” for the lost, unloved and unwanted who have a chance now to be who they want to be in their eyes and live out the fantasy for one night?

I hope the individuals who will share ideas will do so unblindly, because an Idea can change the world so why give it away for free unless you consider yourself rich for getting free TBK music. If you are going to help out the band do so willingly being aware of this, that you have the potential to change the world and get rich in the process. Why help out the band because you wanted to feel accepted or liked you belong out of a craving starvation to be loved.

@anonymous …true words. I would feel like I was on the moon anyway. Because I would have nothing to add. I really don’t know anything about SPkins. I think I just quickly agreed to a meet out of excitement. Now that I think about it, everyone is meeting ALREADY. At Billys time. That’s what a concert is. I am not being mean or anything, just honest. See u there! :0)

thanks for the kind worlds.

as to why even do the fan meet ups, I asked Kerry that last night during the radio show. he said that “I’m an SP fan and I like meeting with other SP fans and talk all things Pumpkins”
I get a sense that an in person meet up communicates a lot more then just a message board post.
