As you may have read on blank page yesterday Billy Corgan will be a guest programmer for Rage. This evening they posted a little preview of Billy talking about the making of the music video of 1979. Billy tells some familiar information that can be found on the Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits Video Collection 1991-2000. Mainly about how the band had to fly from New York back to Los Angles to re-tape the live band scene after the original tape had gone missing.
Billy gives new information about a major music video network threatening to ban the video because of a shoot in the video where the kid knocks over toilet paper (merchandise) saying that it would promote violence. The band pointed out that rap videos commonly would flash guns in their videos and the network backed off.
