Billy Corgan to speak with Matt Pinfield about Oceania

Matt Pinfield who did an interview with Billy about the reissues last years is going to sit down with Billy in mid-June at the 2nd Annual Sunset Sessions Rock! In addition Billy will be doing one-on-one interviews for radio stations in attendance.

David Bowie’s 50th Birthday concert at Madison Square Garden was held on January 9th 1997. It was full of special guest such as Frank Black, Robert Smtih, Lou Reed, Foo Fighters, Gail Ann Dorsey, and of course Billy Corgan.
On this night Billy played guitar and sung on All The Young Dudes (video below) and The Jean Genie.
As a bonus flashback we point back to a rumor that the Smashing Pumpkins recorded Moonage Daydream for a David Bowie tribute album that was ultimately scrapped.

Billy came on The Abe Kanan Show around 6:05pm PST
Thirty-Three was played as an intro. They started by talking about Resistance Pro and the upcoming show. They went on to talk about the talent on the Resistance Pro roster. Then, said a lot about good talent that is dependable.
HA! Abe Kanan suggest having Courtney Love and old Smashing Pumpkins members come into the wrestling ring.

Billy recently helped in the voting for the recent Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Guitarists list of all time. But this time the honor goes to him on SPIN’s 100 Greatest at number 63.
Oceania tour starts July 26th 2012

The Smashing Pumpkins are reportedly starting the Oceania tour on July 26th near Perth, Australia at the Challenge Stadium. A band known as Wolfmother will be opening for the Pumpkins on this leg of the tour. The Smashing Pumpkins will then stop by Sydney, Australia for the Splendour In The Grass 2012 Festival Show on the 29th, followed by another show in Sydney on the 31st, and then off to Melbourne for a show on August 2nd. They then take off for beautiful Auckland for a show on August 4th.

Patient Smashing Pumpkins fans are starting to receive their long awaited gift

Patient fans who waited out the late arrival of the reissues—processed from the official site—are now starting to receive their gifts. Last week fans who ordered the reissues from the official site were sent an e-mail, informing them how they could apply for a 7″ Flexidisc. This special limited edition orange Flexidisc comes with one song titled Blissed. A total of 5000 were made. As soon as we get our copy (hopefully today) we will post more pictures. While you wait for yours to arrive you can listen to this.
UPDATE: Check out this special Q&A Hypno Raygun had with the Manufacturer of the Smashing Pumpkins 7″ Flexidisc. Also check out our our nice scan.
UPDATE 2: The song is an acoustic song. If I had to take a stab at it, I would put it around Mellon Collie. Kind of has that feel of songs on the Tonight, Tonight single.
The vocals are rather quiet but here are the first lines

A report from theMusic.com.au is reporting “Brisbane based ‘artist-empowering’ label Create/Control has announced that The Smashing Pumpkins are the next band to join their roster.” According to the article Oceania will be released in Australia on Friday 22 June.
Billy Corgan to return to Chicago Live! June 28th 2012

Billy Corgan is reportedly heading back to be on Chicago Live! on June 28th. He will once again be interviewed by Greg Kot. Also appearing that same night will be Art Shay who has been doing photography for the Teargarden project.
