At Crestfallen.com we find all sorts of Pumpkin’s related news and in the ghost of our indecision we chose not post about it.

Thus we created a new page called “Blank Page” (originally to be titled the back page). Blank Page is all the rage for the fan who would like to know every little tidbit of information about the going on’s of the Smashing Pumpkins.

The Fluke remixes were previously released in June of 1997 as a promo in the UK. In the San Francisco market, local alternative rock station Live 105 would commonly play one of the Fluke mixes on the air and the mix would often make it to their nightly Top 5 Most Requested Song Of The Day.

In the description ByStarlight wrote “To Who Knows Where” video was inspired by the 1976 David Bowie-starring science fiction film “The Man Who Fell to Earth”. The scene in a tunnel is a reference to “Blade Runner”. Thanks to Starseed for the video :)”

Billy with raffle winner Heidi

Billy Corgan donated one of his touring guitars for a raffle at the most recent Resistance Pro Show. Billy said on twitter that part of the money raised at the wrestling match would go towards “some of our brothers” medical bills. One of those brothers was Sam Thompson. 

Heidi who won the raffle kindly sent us a close up picture of the guitar. She told us that she had the guitar signed for her friend Sam Thompson and that the match on Friday was dedicated to him. She went on to inform us that there will be another benefit at Kuma’s Corner in Chicago on the 25th for Sam. According to Resistance Pro website, they will be donating rare items, tickets, and other surprises to raise money to help offset Sam’s medical bills. Anyone who would like to make a donation can do so from the Kuma’s Corners website.

But perhaps the biggest news is that the banner notes a US Tour this fall.

Nicole posted on her public Facebook account a new picture of her after a Smashing Pumpkins photo shoot that took place yesterday.

In other tidbit news, Billy tweeted that at the upcoming Resistance Pro Show there will be a raffle for a black strat that was used during a Smashing Pumpkins tour. And in a second tweet we are told that the money raised will help friends who need help with their medical bills as well as a local animal shelter.

"Is it true that we have to bring our own water?" -D'arcy

In May of 1996 the Smashing Pumpkins were on the Simpsons episode 3F21, perhaps better known as Homerpalooza. The episode has Homer being added to a freak show line-up as part of a musical festival known as “Hullabalooza” which the Smashing Pumpkins were touring with.

The Smashing Pumpkins are introduced by playing Zero live, where Jimmy is playing an unusually small drum kit. And in a peculiar fashion the band stopped playing Zero midway due to a big pink pig that had just hit Homer in the gut that is seen flying up into the air.  Which ultimately leads to Homer getting his gig as part of the freak show.

After Homer makes his first appearance on the Hullabalooza stage (where he is shot by a cannon) he meets Billy Corgan. Homer tells Billy that his kids thinks he is the greatest. And because the Pumpkins gloomy music his children have stopped dreaming of a future he couldn’t possibly afford.

Later on Homer hangs out with the entire band and they discuss the upcoming show in Springfield. Jimmy tells Homer  ”the hometown show’s the big one”.  James concurs by says “people who called you a weirdo in high school get to see what a successful freak you’ve become.”

Towards the end of the episode Homer is forced to resign from the freak show. As he leaves Homer tells the Pumpkins that he’ll miss them, but that he just can’t share their bleak world view. To which Billy says “We envy you, Homer. All we have is our music, our legions of fans, our million of dollars and our youth…. WOO-HOO!”

The Pumpkins are set to headline at the Metro on June 14th as part of the Hot Stove Cool Music Benefit Concert. GA tickets are listed at $50 and go on sale Saturday at noon. In addition, for a cool grand, you can buy VIP party tickets, which include tickets to the Red Sox vs Cubs game on June 15th.
